Taylor Gardner-Hickman is currently on loan from West Brom with Bristol City who also have a buy option described as ‘nominal’.

West Brom are having a brilliant season, and that has come in the absence of two players who are currently on loan.

Taylor Gardner-Hickman is at Bristol City while Karlan Grant is at Cardiff City.

Grant is likely to return to The Hawthorns next summer after his loan after Carlos Corberan admitted he can’t rule out Grant having a future at the club.

While Grant could return, it looks increasingly likely that Gardner-Hickman won’t be.

Corberan accepts that Gardner-Hickman could leave

Writing on X, Birmingham Live journalist Joe Chapman responded to a fan who mentioned the buy option Bristol has for the right-back.

“Aye, Carlos accepts that there is a fair chance that they execute that clause.” He wrote.

The clause was mentioned by the fan as being ‘nominal’ which will be disappointing for Albion given how brilliant he’s been while on loan.

A former England U20 international, Gardner-Hickman has made 14 appearances this season and has contributed two assists for the club.

A real breakout this season, and the Baggies will be gutted to probably lose him permanently for cheap.

It is a strange decision West Brom made to allow him to leave given that he’s made 60 first-team appearances for the club already at the age of just 21.

Boyhood Baggies star could’ve been perfect as a long-term right-back, but it seems like that opportunity has already passed.

However, from the player’s point of view, he is playing his best football of his career at Bristol and has double the assists he managed for West Brom in the Championship in less than a quarter of the games.
