West Brom striker Karlan Grant says he hasn’t spoken to the club since joining Cardiff City on loan last summer.
West Brom loaned Grant, 25, to Cardiff City in the summer, and the forward has since featured 14 times in the Championship, scoring once and assisting twice.
His side sit in 6th place of the Championship table after recording back-to-back wins under boss Erol Bulut, who’s enjoying a positive first season in English football.
And Grant says he’s enjoying his football at Cardiff City this season. Speaking to Wales Online, he said:
“It’s about me playing my football again and enjoying my football, which is what I’m doing here with Cardiff. Barring me not scoring as much as I want to, I’m really enjoying it.”
And Grant was then asked how often he’s in contact with parent club West Brom. But surprisingly, the striker says he’s not spoken to the club since leaving on loan.
Grant said:
“I haven’t spoken to them. I don’t really know how it works. I’m just focused on enjoying my football here.”

Does Karlan Grant have a future at West Brom?
West Brom’s financial troubles have been well documented this year. And given the fact that West Brom paid £15million for Grant, who remains under contract until 2026, the Baggies will no doubt be keen to make some of that money back should they sell.
After a tough season last time round and a tough spell in front of goal this season, Grant’s transfer value will no doubt have dropped, so how much West Brom can realistically charge for him remains to be seen.
Expect the club to be keeping a close eye on his progress despite no contact with the striker. He’s playing an important role for Cardiff who are having a very good season and if Grant can impress then he might put himself in Carlos Corberan’s plans for next season.
