West Brom have been tipped for the playoffs this season after Adrian Clarke unveiled an impressive stat which he says is ‘phenomenal’.
West Brom continued to make their case for playoff football this season with yet another win, this time against Hull City.
A 3-1 win sees the Baggies in fifth place and right in there amongst the divisions best behind Ipswich and Leicester.
Now EFL pundit and analyst Adrian Clarke has made his case for Albion being a playoff side.
Speaking on the What The EFL!? podcast, Clarke revealed the impressive stat which points toward West Brom being promoted.
Clarke on impressive West Brom
“I’ve got a few stats that are interesting, the reason I think Corberan backed his players to handle Hull’s possession is that they’ve only conceded eight goals in open play all season, that’s second only to Leicester City.

“It’s amazing who’s leading, Watford, in terms of the fewest shots faced in open play, but West Brom are second, so they’re very good at limiting the opposition.
“It’s remarkable, they’ve been behind for 11.3% of the season, which is just phenomenal.
“If they can find the clinical edge like they did in this game, they’re going to definitely be in the playoffs.”
Players like Grady Diangana who has been excellent, and Jed Wallace will therefore be pivotal if the Baggies are to remain in a playoff position.
What next for the Baggies
Next up, West Brom continue a difficult run of fixtures as they head to St Marys’ to face Southampton on Saturday. A fixture which pits two playoff contenders against each other.
A win for either would be a big statement and would go a long way in inspiring belief ahead of a pivotal period after the international break.
For West Brom, the international break will end when Ipswich arrive at the Hawthorns. The side placed second against all the odds so a win would be massive.
Picking up six points could see West Brom back in the race potentially for second, considering Ipswich have been enduring a small dip in form recently.
