West Brom could have the Championship’s best player in Grady Diangana if he continues his excellent form.

Grady Diangana has been top-class lately for the Baggies and a huge part in the season to date.

The forward has been so good that he’s found himself drawing comparisons from Carlos Corberan who insists Diangana is similar to Raul.

Diangana has also been named the most technical player at the club by Cedric Kipre. Now he has received even more praise this time by a West Brom journalist.

Diangana lauded for playing ‘so well’

Speaking on Express and Star’s West Brom podcast, The Baggies Broadcast, journalist Jonny Drury was keen to heap praise on Diangana.

“He’s hitting, back to near what he was hitting in that loan spell and for he if he keeps this on, he’s going to be the best player in the division, regardless of what Leicester have got or Leeds have got.

“There’s a reason why the Championship big boys were sniffing in the summer despite the fact for the last three years he hasn’t done an awful lot.

“He’s Albion’s main man again, it’s such a bonus for Corberan to have a player who’s performing so well at the moment because I am sure in his heart of hearts, he knew the ability he had but he wouldn’t have been sure if he was going to discover it.”

How good has Diangana been?

This season already, Diangana has scored two and assisted three in 10 games for West Brom. This leaves him short just two goals of his tally last season, despite playing a third of the games.

When on form, talent-wise Diangana can be matched by very few in the league which is why the Baggies spent an initial £12 million which could rise to £18m on him back in 2020.

As West Brom improves, the expectation is that Diangana will also get better, which should only raise his stats and make him more invaluable to the Baggies.
