Carlos Corberan has lauded Grady Diangana with praise, even going so far as comparing him with a legendary Real Madrid player.
Monday night’s victory over Coventry City has elevated West Brom into a fifth-placed team, with playoff football on the cards.
West Brom saw Matt Phillips perform exceptionally, along with goals from both Grady Diangana and Brandon Thomas-Asante.
After the game, Carlos Corberan was praised by Diangana, as the forward insisted the Spaniard is a ‘special manager’.
Now the boss has returned the favour, saying Diangana reminds him of a Real Madrid legend.

Corberan praises Diangana
Speaking with Express and Star, Corberan began discussing the opening goal from Monday night.
“The first goal was the quality of Grady,” Corberan noted. “First was a collective action that we finished (shot) to the hands of the keeper and Grady was showing how connected he is with the game.
“This game can be easy but normally not every player goes there to go for the second ball.”
Continuing, Corberan then compared Diangana with a Real Madrid legend.
“I remember that Raul, the Real Madrid player, he scored many goals in his career being more connected with these actions than the defender and Diangana scored a goal that made me very pleased because he scored a goal showing he is very connected with the game.”
High praise, can Diangana back it up
Living up to a comparison with one of football’s 21st-century icons will be a difficult task for Diangana.
However, the comparison should indicate the confidence his manager has in him which can’t be a bad thing.
Corberan clearly thinks Diangana is top of the range, we just hope he takes it as motivation.
