Turkish outfit Trabzonspor are ready to make a move for this key West Brom player.

West Brom are heading towards a make or break summer, with the Baggies currently having nine first-team players out of contract.

Those out of contract are; Alex Mowatt, Cedric Kipre, Nathaniel Chalobah, Adam Reach, Tom Fellows, Matt Phillips, Erik Pieters, Martin Kelly, and Ted Cann.

Unless a takeover goes through, and soon, West Brom look set to lose half their playing squad on free transfers, and if the financial situation doesn’t improve then the club could also be forced to sell off a number of players in the summer too.

And one player already attracting summer transfer interest is Okay Yokuslu.

Reports coming out of Turkey say that SuperLig outfit Trabzonspor could make a summer attempt to sign Yokuslu, but that the 29-year-old will see out the current season at The Hawthorns.

Yokuslu rejoined the Baggies on a free transfer and went on to feature 38 times in the Championship last season, scoring four goals.

This season, the Turkish midfielder has featured in 27 of West Brom’s 28 league fixtures, without scoring, but once again impressing the Baggies faithful.

Player futures depend on West Brom takeover

West Brom are a good team in a good position in the Championship.

In terms of football, the club is punching well above their weight under Carlos Corberan, and they’re on a positive trajectory too.

But as a club, West Brom are in a bit of a mess right now and if a takeover fails to go through this month, matters could go downhill pretty rapidly.

It’ll likely mean the club losing most of their out of contract players in the summer, if not all of them, and likely being forced to sell assets like Yokuslu who are under contract for another year after this season.

Yokuslu has once again showed his class in the Championship, being one of the few who’ve kept their spot in the XI as Corberan has made changes throughout the campaign.

But few could blame the midfielder if West Brom’s off-field situation worsened and he pushed for a move away in the summer.

Up next for the Baggies is an FA Cup fourth round clash vs neighbours Wolves on Sunday.
