West Brom could lose one of their key players in 2024, says Fabrizio Romano.
West Brom have a number of players out of contract at the end of this season.
The Baggies appear to be taking action on that front, with Carlos Corberan recently revealing that the club are in talks with Tom Fellows over a potential new deal.
But one player who could be leaving The Hawthorns is Cedric Kipre.
Fabrizio Romano reveals Cedric Kipre interest
Kipre, 27, has enjoyed a career resurgence under Corberan this season.
The Ivorian joined West Brom ahead of the 2020/21 campaign but didn’t make his league debut for the Baggies until the following campaign.
But it was last season during a loan spell with Cardiff City where the centre-back rediscovered his best form, featuring 42 times in the Championship and earning himself a place in Corberan’s West Brom XI for this season.
Kipre has since featured in 25 of West Brom’s 26 Championship clashes, becoming a key player for the club; as per Sofascore, Kipre averages 1.5 interceptions per game, 1.7 tackles. 4.7 balls recovered, 3.7 clearances and an impressive 67.9 touches, with Kipre having helped to keep 10 clean sheets this season.
West Brom must secure Kipre’s future
West Brom have a lot on their plate right now with the ongoing takeover of the club, and so player contracts understandably seem to be taking a backseat for the time being.
But the recent news of Fellows’ new deal suggests that the club have an eye on contracts and that, despite their ownership uncertainty, they can still negotiate new deals.
And Kipre will no doubt be someone that Corberan wants to keep around for the long-term.
He appears to be coming unto his prime years; he’s 27 now and he’s playing some of the best football of his career, so it’s no surprise to see this kind of interest in him emerging.

It could be tough for the Baggies to entice him into staying though, especially if there’s a lot of interest from clubs in the English top flight.
But if West Brom can earn promotion themselves then it could see Kipre and many of the club’s other out of contract players stay for the foreseeable.
The Baggies return to Championship action this weekend, with a home game vs Blackburn Rovers on the cards; West Brom currently sit in 5th place of the table and six points behind Leeds United in 4th.
