West Brom could make their perfect January addition if they swoop for this Manchester United star.

West Brom are gearing up for a crucial January, both on and off the pitch.

The club is in the midst of a takeover process but have been tipped to continue with their January plans as normal.

And journalist Lewis Cox has suggested that the Baggies will eye up a wide player next month given the injury to Matt Phillips, and the possibility of Grady Diangana heading to AFCON.

West Brom look set to rely on the loan market for January recruits given their financial predicament, and one ideal, potential signing could be Amad Diallo.

Recent repots have tipped the Ivorian to leave on loan next month.

Amad Diallo a wanted man after Sunderland spell

Diallo, 21, spent last season on loan with Sunderland in the Championship.

He won the club’s Young Player of the Year award after thoroughly impressing, scoring 14 goals in 39 Championship outings as the Black Cats reached the top six.

He returned to United in pre season where Erik ten Hag took a closer look at him, but an injury kept Diallo at Old Trafford.

The tricky winger remains sidelined but is thought to be closing in on a return to action.

Now with January around the corner, Diallo is looking poised to leave on loan, and after his impressive spell at Sunderland, a Championship loan move is looking like a real possibility, and West Brom could be the perfect destination.

Do West Brom stand a chance of signing Diallo?

Given the fact that Diallo shone in the Championship last season, and that a horde of second tier teams were linked in the summer, a Championship loan move in the second half of this season looks ideal.

Sunderland continue to be linked with a return for the attacker, but with Tony Mowbray no longer at the club and a different style of play set to ensue, Diallo to Sunderland may not be so likely anymore.

West Brom could be a safer bet; they obviously play good football under Carlos Corberan who is widely considered to be a great tactician, and the Baggies look to be a bit more settled in the top six.

And given the club’s injury list and what AFCON could mean for West Brom, Diallo could get unlimited game time at The Hawthorns in the second half of the campaign.

It would be an amazing signing for the Baggies and one that could really prove to be the difference in their quest for promotion this season.

But there’ll be teams queueing up to sign Diallo in January and so West Brom would have to make a good case, and make it fast.
