Whilst talks continue over a proposed takeover, an unexpected name has been in talks with West Brom owner Guochuan Lai.
BirminghamLive confirmed that the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street was in attendance for the victory over QPR on Tuesday night.
Street has been in regular contact with an Albion supporter group ‘Action for Albion’ admitting that he will do all he can to support the club alongside MP Nicola Richards.
However, Street isn’t only in contact with a fan group…

Street in dialogue with Lai and Miles
West Midlands Mayor Street has been in contact with Albion’s managing director Mark Miles, with the pair in regular contact with potential new owners or investors.
The club are in desperate need of financial backing, however, boss Carlos Corberan has done a remarkable job since taking over last year – all of which on a shoestring budget.
His West Brom side have kept five clean sheets in their last six, with Tuesday’s win against struggling QPR pushing Albion into a top-six position.
Street hopeful of helping the club out
After the win in midweek, Street took to his Twitter page to let Albion fans know he’s in dialogue with the hierarchy – trying to come to an agreement as soon as possible for the benefit of everyone involved.
