West Brom certainly look as though they are in a very good position right now.

On the pitch, Carlos Corberan‘s side currently sit 5th in the Championship table. They are therefore well in contention for promotion to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, things are also looking brighter off it. After a period of financial uncertainty under Guochuan Lai, Florida based businessman Shilen Patel is now on the verge of completing his takeover of the club.

That will inevitably generate a considerable amount of excitement among those of a West Brom persuasion. Not only does it give the club greater security, it should also lead to more investment in the squad.

Now, Baggies fans have seemingly got an indication of how Patel might approach the transfer window.

‘Young talent’ could be on the way to West Brom

With that expectation of greater investment in the squad, many supporters of the club will be keen to know what type of players they might be signing.

Taking to X on Tuesday, US investor Brett Morgan, a lifelong friend of Patel, claimed that the new owner will be a ‘great custodian’ of West Brom.

With one Baggies fan then jokingly asking him to tell Patel to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG, Morgan responded: “He mentioned the current team was very experienced. I imagine some movement towards some young talent is in the cards…”

West Brom will continue their attempts to secure their place in the Championship play-offs on Friday night. They are set to host another top six hopeful, Coventry City, at The Hawthorns.

Transfer claim exciting for Baggies fans

This hint on how Patel might approach the market does feel exciting for supporters of West Brom.

There are already plenty of experienced players in this Baggies squad. Some of those now look as though they are approaching the latter stages of their careers.

Beyond that, there are plenty more who will see their contracts with the club expire in the summer.

Corberan is already working with a small squad as well, so that scenario highlights the need for reinforcements.

If it is younger individuals that Patel will be bringing to The Hawthorns, West Brom will be getting players who can fill those voids for quite some time.

That will ease the pressure on the squad, and secure plenty of enterprising talent, that may be able to flourish and help take the club even further.

This therefore, will surely add to the anticipation among West Brom fans, about what is to come for their team in the next few years.
