West Brom are closing in on confirming their place in the Championship play-offs this season.

Carlos Corberan‘s side are currently on a six-game unbeaten run in the league, following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Bristol City.

That run has seen them cement 5th place in the table. They are currently eight points clear of 7th place Hull City in the race for a top six spot.

As a result, West Brom are now in a strong position to get a shot at promomtion to the Premier League in the coming months.

Next up for the Baggies, is matches against Millwall and Watford over the Easter weekend. After that, they are set to travel to the Bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City on Saturday 6th April.

Now, the size of the backing they will have for that game, has been revealed.

West Brom set for big away backing

When they do make the trip to take on the Potters, Corberan and his side will certainly not be short of support.

On Friday afternoon, the club confirmed that they have now fully sold out of their allocation of away tickets for that clash with Stoke City.

As a result, West Brom will be backed by 2,600 away fans in that match, where they will hope to move closer to securing a top six spot.

Feel-good Baggies factor on show

This reveal of such a strong away following, so far in advance of the game, just goes to highlight the positive move around the club right now.

Obviously, part of that comes courtesy of the success they are enjoying on the pitch, with Corberan doing a outstanding job in charge of West Brom.

However, it also reflects the excellent work done by Shilen Patel since completing his takeover of the club last month.

For starters, the new chairman developed a strong connection with the fanbase with his communication.

He has also backed that up with his actions. That came last week when he wrote off one of the loans hanging over West Brom, further securing the future of the club.

Taking such action will only encourage fans to make this sort of effort, when it comes to travelling to away games and other commitments.

Indeed, such a following should also help give the Baggies a big lift on the pitch in that match.

With Stoke City struggling at the opposite end of the table, this could therefore turn into a rather enjoyable day for those of a West Brom persuasion.
