The West Brom takeover is looking closer and closer, now an update has been shared including some insight into the US links.

The West Brom takeover has been much discussed in recent weeks with various reports indicating a deal is close.

A sale price for West Brom had been listed a few weeks back according to reports, with an expert in football takeovers being involved.

Various US-based names have been suggested in relation to the takeover, including the owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, Mark Hunt.

Now though, a further update has been provided by Tom Collomosse for the Daily Mail.

Takeover ‘closer’ than ever for West Brom

Writing during a Q&A on the Daily Mail’s website, Collomosse had some exciting developments to share with fans.

“It’s closer now than it has been at any point under Lai’s ownership.” He explained in an update which will have fans delighted given the desperation to see the back of the current leadership.

Continuing he said: “The price is about £60m (including paying off the MSD loan) and I believe all three interested parties have strong links to the US.”

It would appear that West Brom are most likely to see American owners at the club in the very near future.

Exciting times at The Hawthorns

West Brom have been having a brilliant season this season, despite the cloud of takeover looming, and Carlos Corberan deserves huge praise.

Corberan has managed to put the Baggies on the brink of playoff qualification despite an injury crisis too.

Now with key players returning and the takeover likely to be resolved the second half of this season is due to be even better.

The future of Albion is looking bright.
