West Brom eased past Ipswich Town in the Championship last night.

West Brom welcomed Ipswich Town in the Championship last night, where the Sky Sports cameras dawned upon The Hawthorns.

And Carlos Corberan‘s side didn’t disappoint; they breezed past title-challengers Ipswich Town, eventually winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Darnell Furlong and Grady Diangana.

It was a commanding win and one which leaves the Baggies in 5th place of the table; now 10 points behind Ipswich Town in 2nd and just three behind Leeds United in 3rd.

‘Pretty much perfect’ for the Baggies

Many would’ve backed West Brom to give Ipswich Town a very tough game.

Corberan is a well-regarded tactician and his side have been getting better and better as the season’s gone on.

But few may have predicted that the Baggies would win as comfortably as they did.

Ipswich certainly caused a few problems on the night but the scoreline is a fair reflection of the game and West Brom deserved all three points.

And after the game, Express & Star reporter Lewis Cox posted this review of the game:

More to come from West Brom?

West Brom have now won four of their last five, going up against some of the league’s best in Ipswich Town and Hull City to name a couple, and coming out win commanding wins.

There’s certainly room for improvement, still; the Baggies’ away form isn’t great, but they’re putting points on the board and keeping clean sheets, with seven in their last 10 games now.

Corberan is becoming a hugely popular figure at the club and he’s getting the best out of his players, and with the likes of Daryl Dike still to return and John Swift and Josh Maja to come back to full fitness, it certainly seems like West Brom are in a good place right now.

January could be pivotal in deciding their fate this season; off the pitch, things remain tricky for West Brom and so it remains to be seen whether or not Corberan is given any resources to bolster his promotion push this season.

But if West Brom can have a proactive and positive January then the Premier League may be awaiting for the Baggies.

Up next is a trip to Cardiff City.

The Bluebirds sit in 7th after an impressive win at Preston North End on Saturday, so it poses another tricky outing for the Baggies who’ve taken just nine points from eight away games this season.
