West Brom picked up another point in their pursuit of a Championship play-off place on Wednesday night.
Making the trip to Loftus Road to face a resurgent QPR, the Baggies found themselves trailing when their former player Sam Field opened the scoring after 17 minutes.
Two quick goals turned things around to put Carlos Corberan‘s side 2-1 up at half time.
But after having a penalty saved by West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer, and another seemingly handled off the line by Cedric Kipre, QPR got an equaliser with ten minute remaining, again through Field.
That was enough to ensure it would end 2-2, with the Baggies remaining 5th in the Championship table.
One player who once again impressed for West Brom in that match, was Mikey Johnston.
Another big impact from Mikey Johnston
Having joined on loan from Celtic in the January transfer window, Johnston has been in excellent form since moving to The Hawthorns.
That continued against QPR, with the winger producing a stunning strike from range into the top corner, to equalise for West Brom after Field’s opener.
Johnston has now scored four goals in eight appearances for the Baggies, and his latest efforts have earned yet more praise.
Writing about the 24-year-old’s performance against QPR, The Express and Star said:
“What more can we say about the magic man? Albion had conceded, had looked on the ropes and had shown absolutely nothing in attack. But then out of nothing Johnston goes and nutmugs one and slams it in off the post. Superb again.”
As a result, Johnston was given a rating of 8/10 for his latest West Brom performance.
The stats from SofaScore also suggest this was another impressive performance from the winger.
Despite getting on the scoresheet at Loftus Road, he had an expected goals tally of just 0.04 in that match. That goes to show just how good his goal was.
Meanwhile, Johnston also completed all three of the dribbles he attempted on Wednesday night, the most of any West Brom player.
Elsewhere, the Celtic loanee recorded a 71% pass success rate against QPR, and won three out of his duels, also making one clearance for his side.

West Brom fans won’t want to lose Mikey Johnston
They say never catch feeling for loan players. But when it comes to Johnston, that is a lot easier said than done for Baggies fans.
The winger has been absolutely outstanding since he arrived at West Brom, and has made some crucial contributions in front of goal.
Indeed, his effort against QPR is far from the only stunning strike he has produced since making the move to The Hawthorns.
If he continues to perform like this, he is going to be vital to any hopes West Brom have of winning promotion this season.
That will make it hard for the club to bid farewell to him, when this loan deal expires in the summer.
With that in mind, it is hard to imagine there not being plenty of questions over a permanent deal for the winger, once the transfer market reopens.
