West Brom have reportedly agreed a deal to sign this 19-year-old star on loan. But a move isn’t finalised just yet.

West Brom have so far signed Andi Weimann on loan from Championship rivals Bristol City, and Callum Marshall on loan from West Ham.

Money is more than scarce at The Hawthorns right now and loan signings looks like the only possible outcome in the final 24 hours or so of the January transfer window; and of course the constant possibility of big player sales, but nothing seems close as of yet.

Lewis Cox says that the Baggies are trying to sign Mikey Johnston on loan from Celtic with Carlos Corberan keen to bolster his loan options.

But reports coming out of Italy say that West Brom have agreed a deal to sign Chaka Traore on loan from AC Milan.

West Brom agree deal for Chaka Traore

West Brom and Swiss outfit Lausanne have both been credited with an interest in Traore, and it’s now reported that both teams have agreed a deal to sign the Ivorian on loan until the summer.

The decision now lies with Traore who has to choose between West Brom and Lausanne, as per reports, and so West Brom face a nervy wait to find out whether or not Traore wants to join the club ahead of Thursday’s 11pm deadline.

Why Traore should choose a move to The Hawthorns

West Brom remain in a very strong league position, currently sitting in 5th; impressing in the second half of the season here in England could well give clubs in the Championship and maybe even Premier League reason to pursue a deal for the youngster in the summer.

He’d give himself more media exposure if he came to England and impressed, but with barely any first-team experience, it’d be a very tough gig to come into at West Brom.

But Corberan has shown time and time again that he’s not only a top coach, but a top man manager as well; he gets the best out of players consistently, even if they’ve been through tough spells in their careers, with Kyle Bartley being the best example.

And with numbers currently light on the flanks, Traore would surely get a lot of game time at West Brom in the second half of this season, and playing alongside quality players like Jed Wallace and John Swift to name a couple would definitely aid his development.

Time is running out though and West Brom will want a decision as soon as possible.
