It could be an eventful end to the season for West Brom, as they look to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

The Baggies currently sit 5th in the Championship table, and while they may be 13 points adrift of the automatic promotion places, they are still well in contention for a play-off place.

That will of course still give them a shot at promotion, which will surely have to be the priority for those at The Hawthorns between now and the end of the season.

However, looking beyond the remainder of the campaign and the battle for promotion, there is a number of key players out of contract this summer which the club will surely have an eye on.

West Brom will not want those individuals to leave on free transfers in the summer, so we’ve taken a look at three players they need to agree news deals with…

Kyle Bartley out of contract at West Brom this summer

Even at 32 years old, Bartley remains an important part of this West Brom defence, and has again been a regular feature for the Baggies this season.

However, he is due to be out of contract at the end of the campaign, and it would be a blow to lose him, given the importance he holds to this side.

Beyond that, recent links with Luton Town in the January transfer window also suggest that if he was under contract, that sort of interest could ensure the Baggies have the chance to raise some useful funds from his sale in the future.

As a result, it could be important to agree a new contract with Bartley, either to retain a key man or to bring a much-needed financial boost to the club.

Cedric Kipre

Following a tough first few years at West Brom, Kipre is finally getting a chance for a regular run of games at The Hawthorns this season, and he has certainly taken it.

The Ivorian has been a near ever-present at the back for Carlos Corberan‘s side, producing some excellent performances in the process.

However, he too is out of contract at the end of this season, something West Brom ought to be looking to change, given how important he is now becoming to this team.

Indeed, if Bartley was to move on, then West Brom could ill afford not to extend Kipre’s contract at The Hawthorns, since that could then see them lose not one but two key centre backs for nothing in the summer.

Alex Mowatt

Returning to West Brom after a loan spell with Middlesbrough last season, Mowatt has certainly made his mark at The Hawthorns.

The midfielder is another who has become a regular feature in Corberan’s side, producing some consistently reliable performances, and even chipping in with goal contributions.

As a result, the 28-year-old is another who the Baggies will no doubt be reluctant to lose anytime soon, given he is now showing what he can do for the club.

However, Mowatt is another out of contract in the summer, meaning they should be looking to secure a new deal for the midfielder sooner rather than later.
