Chelsea youngster Omari Hutchinson has been left out of the Blues’ pre-season tour of the US, to ‘pursue a potential loan move’, according to The Athletic.

That is according to The Athletic, who claim the attacking midfielder has been told by boss Mauricio Pochettino that he is available for loan, along with fellow 19-year-old Harvey Vale.

Hutchinson joined the club from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee last summer and made his professional debut as a second-half substitute against Manchester City back in January.

It is widely reported that West Bromwich Albion had an agreement in place with Chelsea to sign the youngster towards the end of the January window before the deal collapsed at the eleventh hour.

Now Hutchinson has been listed for loan, Albion may be keen to resurrect a deal for the Jamaican international. However, they may face competition from other Championship sides this window.

How would Omari Hutchinson fit in at West Brom?

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan’s preferred formation is 4-2-3-1 and, with Hutchinson’s versatility, he would be able to feature in any of the three attacking positions behind the striker.

The former Arsenal man is a very neat and tidy forward-thinking player, who loves to run at defenders and create chaos.

He is often utilised as a 10 or a wide attacker and his speed, coupled with his ability to bamboozle defenders, allows him to be a major outlet on the counter.

Albion are restricted in the amount of money they can spend on players during this window, due to financial issues off the field.

A loan move would be perfect for both parties, with Hutchinson providing added quality at The Hawthorns, while giving him valuable first-team experience.
