Having missed out on Dexter Lembikisa, West Brom should consider Arsenal’s Reuell Walters as an alternative option.

According to TeamTalk, Rotherham have won the race to sign Wolves right-back Dexter Lembikisa on loan for the upcoming season, beating the likes of West Brom, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City, and Coventry City to his signature. The Baggies must now explore other potential targets.

Lembikisa made his Premier League debut last season, and made four appearances in total for the senior team at Wolves. He is now in need of regular game time to further his development. As is Reuell Walters of Arsenal, who journalist Charles Watts has already said may be available for loan this summer, as he is highly rated by Mikel Arteta.

Walters is yet to make his bow in senior football, but given he has the likes of Ben White and Jurrien Timber blocking his path at the Emirates Stadium that is hardly surprising. The 18-year-old, who can play at centre-back and right-back, trains regularly with the Gunners’ first team squad and has been named on the bench several times.

Walters could shine for West Brom

At 6’0”, and with a powerful frame, the teenager has the physicality to cope with the demands of the Championship. The England under-19 international is ready to test himself in senior football, and could thrive at the Hawthorns.

Carlos Corberan will be desperate to bring in reinforcements in what has been a very quiet summer for Albion. Bringing in Walters would be a cost effective way to bolster the Baggies’ back line.

One of Walters’ former coaches, Saul Isaksson-Hurst, has described the youngster as having “the full package,” as quoted by The Athletic. West Brom could easily end up with a future star on their hands.
