West Bromwich Albion have set an asking price for Grady Diangana amid significant interest in the attacker.

According to Express & Star, Burnley, Leicester City, Leeds United, and some Saudi Arabian clubs are all considering a move to sign West Brom’s Grady Diangana this summer.

The Baggies are going to demand £7 million for Diangana, despite having shelled out an initial £12 million to bring the 25-year-old to the Hawthorns in 2020.

Diangana has been a regular starter for Albion since his arrival, however, he hasn’t hit the heights many will have foreseen for him as a youngster. He is a solid player, and plays an important role in Carlos Corberan’s squad. He is someone that the Baggies could cope without, though, especially since Jeremy Sarmiento’s arrival on loan from Brighton.

Diangana produced 4 goals and 3 assists in 31 Championship outings last season, before his campaign was cut short by injury. Former West Brom midfielder Andy Johnson has recently backed Corberan to get the best out of Diangana, saying, “Carlos is great with the man management of players and will recognise it. Next season we could see the best of Grady, that’s saying something because he was incredible when he first arrived,” as quoted by Express & Star.

West Brom prepared to take a loss

It now seems that Diangana will have to rediscover his best form elsewhere. A move may be exactly what the attacking midfielder needs at this stage in his career. In 129 appearances for West Brom in all competitions, Diangana has managed just 15 goals and 11 assists.

The Baggies will have hoped for far more when they prised the player away from West Ham United on a permanent basis 3 years ago. It is telling that the club are prepared to cut their losses on the player and make a significant loss on the price they paid to sign him.

The incoming funds would also be very welcome at the club, who could use them to reinvest in other areas of the pitch where reinforcements are desperately needed.
