West Brom may have been dealt another potentially devastating injury blow.

West Brom are no strangers to injuries.

Since Carlos Corberan took over last season, the Baggies have had injury after injury and that remains the cade, with both Josh Maja and Matt Phillips currently out with longer-term injuries.

One name who’s just returned is Daryl Dike; the USMNT striker started against Aldershot Town in the FA Cup and has made substitute appearances against Blackburn Rovers and Norwich City since.

But there’s now rumours floating around on social media that he’s picked up yet another injury.

Daryl Dike injury rumours take over social media

Although there’s no official report, there’s rumours on social media that Dike has sustained another injury during a training session.

It’s obviously just a rumour at this moment in time, but it would be a third injury to Dike and another huge setback if it’s a serious one.

Since arriving at the club in January 2022, Dike has made just 27 Championship appearances for the Baggies, scoring seven goals; all seven of those goals came last season.

Replying to the rumours, Express & Star journalist Lewis Cox posted:

Lewis Cox update could spell bad news for West Brom

Cox’s response to the Dike rumours won’t fill Baggies fans with confidence.

The part that he’s ‘heard one or two things’ could either mean he’s heard something from the club, or that he’s simply heard the rumours going around, but the fact that he’s not able to deny the rumours is worrying.

All will be discovered tomorrow and if it’s another injury, serous or not, it’ll be a blow for Corberan whose options are already depleted.

With signings looking set to be at a minimum in the final week of the window, the Baggies may be fearing for the worst in this second half of the season; especially if the takeover ends up falling through.

Corberan though continues to find a way to keep West Brom competitive despite numerous setbacks, so fans should remain confident for the season ahead.

Up next though is a break from league action, with Wolves visiting The Hawthorns in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend.
