West Brom picked up a potentially useful point in the battle for a Championship play-off place on Saturday afternoon.
That came with a 1-1 draw at the MKM Stadium, in an intriguing clash with fellow top six hopefuls Hull City.
The Baggies had to come from behind to get something from that game. Fabio Carvalho’s long-range effort had put the Tigers ahead in that match, with 35 minutes on the clock.
However, Darnell Furlong’s header from a Jed Wallace corner, proved enough to secure a draw from that game, for Carlos Corberan‘s side.
Now, it seems as though that result, has helped lead to a more positive outlook on one aspect of how things are going for West Brom at the minute.
Baggies improving on the road
With that draw against Hull City, it is now three consecutive away games in which Corberan’s side have avoided defeat.
This clash with the Tigers was proceeded on the road by a 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town, and 3-0 win at Plymouth Argyle.
Prior to that West Brom had suffered defeat in four out of five away matches. One man who clearly believes that upturn in form on the road is important, is Andy Johnson.
Speaking on the Baggies Broadcast podcast about the club’s recent away from, Johnson – who made 143 appearances for the Baggies – said: “Overall, I don’t just judge by one game and if you look at the last away games and considering we spoke about this last week and said that out away form is a little bit indifferent.
“We’ve gone to Ipswich, Hull and Plymouth, and we’ve got five points. Now for me that’s a good return. A very very good return. Because all those sides are up there, or very very difficult to beat at home.
“Plymouth, that was a great result. Hull, away, you probably would have said a draw wouldn’t have been a bad result and on the grand scheme of it I think you’d probably be right.
“The away form is a lot lot better than it has been, and it needed to be in fairness. It needed to be to stay in the play-offs, you’re not going to stay there just on your home form. Your away from has to chip in.”
West Brom are back on home soil next up. They are set to host Coventry City at The Hawthorns on Friday night, in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Away form a welcome West Brom boost
The fact that things are improving on the road can only be a good thing for the Baggies.
In the circumstances, those are three impressive results that they have picked up in their last three away games.
Not only is that something that allows West Brom to keep up with their promotion rivals, it also ensures they are maintaining some form of momentum on the pitch.
That therefore, puts them in a strong position to claim positive results at home, as well as on the road.
Indeed, there are still six away games to be played by West Brom between now and the end of the regular season.
If they are to secure a top six spot or better, they will surely have to pick up some points in those matches.
As a result, the fact they are starting to find a way to do that in some tough trips, is a promising sign for West Brom.
