A common theme throughout Carlos Corberan’s tenure at West Brom has been injuries.
The Spaniard has had no luck on the injury front since arriving at West Brom last year.
But despite that, and despite various rumblings behind the scenes and a subsequent lack of investment, Corberan has made the Baggies into strong-looking promotion contenders this season.
His side sit in 7th place of the Championship table after defeat vs Southampton before this month’s international break.
And there’s a looming sense that West Brom could be in for a strong second half of the campaign when they get the likes of Daryl Dike, John Swift, and Josh Maja back in action.
Josh Maja looking sharp…
Maja joined as a free agent in the summer.
He showed glimpses of a very talented player in his first five Championship appearances before picking up an ankle injury away at Bristol City back in September, which has kept him sidelined since.
But new footage has emerged showing Maja in training, and he’s looking sharp too.
West Brom posted a video of him scoring a tidy, first-touch finish in first-team training, seemingly suggesting that he’s stepping up his recovery…
West Brom’s attacking options
Right now. Brandon Thomas-Asante is the Baggies’ only fit and available striker.
He’s had to take a lot of strain with the injuries to Dike and Maja and it’s something or a miracle that he too hasn’t sustained an injury as of yet.
But with Maja seemingly nearing a return and Dike set for a New Year return, Corberan all of a sudden have a very potent set of attacking options to choose from.
Then there’s Swift to throw back into the mix at some point, and Jed Wallace who’s bound to rediscover his scoring touch sooner or later.

For West Brom then, things are looking good, and it looks like they’ll get even better in the coming weeks and months.
Corberan is working wonders right now and if he’s given some resources for the January transfer window; combined with his returning players, he could put together a very strong side in the race for promotion.
The Baggies make their return to Championship action against Ipswich Town this weekend, with the Tractor Boys currently in 2nd and level on points with Leicester City in 1st.
The game kicks off at 5:30pm on Saturday and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
