West Bromwich Albion defender Caleb Taylor may be allowed to leave the club on loan again this summer in search of regular playing time.
Baggies manager Carlos Corberan spoke recently spoke about his plans for Taylor, both praising the young centre-back and outlining what had to happen in order for him to become a regular in the West Brom starting XI.
“What will happen is that here, Taylor will get some ideas. Probably out of here he will get some minutes that, right now, I cannot guarantee here,” said Corberan.

“It’s true that any minutes he might play out of here that he is going to play will be similar to last year, because 90% of League One teams play with a five, but here we can manage him in a different way. That’s why I need to make a decision.”
The youngster spent the last term on loan at Cheltenham Town where he made 49 appearances, scoring twice and registering one assist, being labelled ‘excellent’ by boss Wade Elliott, on his way to becoming their Young Player of the Year.
Taylor has made just one appearance for the Baggies this season, featuring in a 2-1 defeat to fellow Championship side Stoke City.
It is clear that his game time would be limited at the Hawthorns this season, though the 20-year-old is clearly capable of playing regular football in the third tier.
If he was to join a side who deployed a back four system then it would no doubt benefit him on his return to the West Brom fold.
Final comments on Taylor
Corberan added: “Caleb is a player who I am very, very pleased to have as a player at the club, because he is a centre back who has a lot of talent and he will undoubtedly be an important centre back for West Brom.
“When you talk about the future, I am watching him as an important player for West Brom. One thing that needs to happen in the meantime is that he needs to grow and progress as a player.
