West Brom have had an impressive season so far in the circumstances.

Despite a quiet time in the transfer window, Carlos Corberan‘s side have made a strong push for a place in the Championship play-offs.

The Baggies currently sit 5th in the table, five points clear of 7th place Hull City in the race for a top six spot.

That has seen a number of the current squad at The Hawthorns come in for plenty of praise and recognition.

Now, one West Brom man who loks set to get a big opportunity thanks to that, is Tom Fellows.

International call-up for West Brom man

This season has seen Fellows establish himself as a regular feature in the Baggies’ side for the first time.

During the current campaign, the winger has scored four goals and provided four assists in 27 first-team appearances in all competitions.

That has now seen the West Brom man named in the England Under 20 squad for this month’s international break.

Fellows is now set to be part of a side that will play in games with Poland and Czechia. This is the first time he has been named in an England squad at any level.

Taking to X to relay that news, the Express and Star’s West Brom reporter Lewis Cox said:

“U20s call for Fellows. Good to see and entirely deserved.”

Before the international break, Fellows and West Brom are set to host Bristol City at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.

Tom Fellows opportunity is well earned

As has been noted here, the chance that Fellows is about to get with England is well deserved.

The 20-year-old has stepped up in excellent style for West Brom throughout the course of the campaign.

He has already made a number of important contributions for the Baggies, even impressing during more difficult periods of form.

Consequently, it does feel as they he shown the attributes needed to be given an opportunity to step up to international football.

With that in mind, it does make sense for him to be given this opportunity, to show that he can indeed make an impact at that level.

As with any player, this will no doubt be an immense source of pride for Fellows. Given how he has stepped up for his team this season, West Brom fans will surely be pleased to see him get that, especially as the winger is one of their own after coming through the academy.

That being said, given how important he has become, they will also be desperate to see him come through this break unscathed.
