West Brom have been dealt yet more devastating news over the fitness of striker Daryl Dike.
The American only returned from a nine month injury lay-off last month. That came after he had been hampered by an Achilles tendon rupture throughout much of his time at the club.
However, Dike is now facing another long spell on the sidelines at The Hawthorns. Just nine minutes after being introduced as a substitute in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town, the striker was stretchered off in tears due to injury.
It has since been confirmed that the 23-year-old has suffered another rupture of his Achilles tendon. As a result, he is not expected to play again in the calendar year.
Not surprisingly, the West Brom striker has since been inundated with messages of support and sympathy. One of those, has now emerged from a club in the National League.
Daryl Dike receives classy Aldershot Town message
When Dike returned to the pitch last month, his first game was in the third round of the FA Cup.
That was a clash with National League side Aldershot Town, where the striker certainly made his mark.
With 27 minutes on the clock in that match, Dike fired home an excellent volley, that made it 3-0 to the Baggies.

West Brom would go on to win that game 4-1. It appears Aldershot certainly got a positive impression from Dike during that encounter, with the club among those now giving their backing to him.
Posting on X, formerly Twitter, in response to the striker’s announcement of his injury, the National League club wrote: “We’ve seen how you came back from your last injury, so make sure you do the same with this one. All the best from everyone at The Shots, Daryl”.
West Brom must be giving all their support to Dike
We can only credit Aldershot Town for the response they have given to Dike’s news here.
It will no doubt the West Brom man immensely to suffer yet another blow as serious as this. That will only be made even more frustrating, by the fact it has come so soon after his last one.
The striker will therefore need all the support he can get from wherever he can get it, in order to keep his spirits up if possible. Messages like these will only be helping to do that.
West Brom themselves have also stated that they will be giving their full support to Dike throughout his recovery, which you feel will be absolutely key.
If the Baggies are to provide him with the best support possible, then it is obviously going to help the process he goes through.
Given what Dike has been through here, that is something he certainly deserves. Beyond that, the striker has previously shown just how good he can be at this level when he is fit.
Getting him back to that stage will therefore benefit West Brom and Carlos Corberan as well. As a result, everyone is going to have work hard together on this one, to ensure all involved can have the best possible outcome.
