West Brom will be looking to further strengthen their spot in the Championship play-off places on Wednesday night.
The Baggies continue to occupy 5th place in the second-tier standings. While they are currently 16 points adrift of the top two, they are still in a position to get a shot at promotion via the play-offs.
However, Carlos Corberan‘s side are just four points clear of 7th place Norwich City. As a result, they will need to continue to win, if they are to claim a top six spot.
Next up, is a trip to Loftus Road to face QPR, who are enjoyinga resurgence as they attempt to escape the relegation battle.
That match is one that will likely bring West Brom back into contact with a familiar face, when they face Marti Cifuentes’ side.
Sam Field in contention for West Brom reunion
Several years ago now, Sam Field came through the academy ranks at West Brom. He made his debut for the Baggies in the Premier League in May 2016, just a week after his 18th birthday.
Speaking shortly after that, the club’s then manager, Tony Pulis, claimed the midfielder could become a fantastic player at The Hawthorns.
Ultimately though, things did not quite work out in that way. While he would go onto make 45 first-team appearances for West Brom, he never became a regular for the club.
As a result, he was loaned out to Charlton Athletic for the 2019/20 season. The following year, Field again went out on loan.
This time he joined QPR for the 2020/21 campaign. That was a move that was then made permanent in the summer of 2021.
QPR paid West Brom an undisclosed fee for his services, and he has so far remained at Loftus Road ever since.

Could Sam Field haunt the Baggies on Wednesday?
It would certainly be no huge surprise to see Field line up against his former club in midweek.
The midfielder has been a regular for QPR throughout the course of the campaign. In total, he has started 30 of their 35 league games this season, coming off the bench in two more.
The latest of those came when he played the full 90 minutes on Saturday, in a 2-1 win away at league leaders Leicester City.
Field produced an impressive performance in that game. Not only did he set up Sinclair Armstrong to score the winning goal in that game, but according to SofaScore, he completed nine defensive actions, and won seven of the ten duels he was involved in.
That does suggest he will be able to cause problems for West Brom at both ends of the pitch on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, with QPR still only outside the bottom three on goal difference, Field and his teammates will be giving everything for another win in this match.
As a result, the former West Brom man is one player this current crop of Baggies will surely have to be ready for come Wednesday.
